Updating to Switchvox 7.5.1

This article describes Switchvox version 7.5.1 (101753).

This version requires version 7.0 (94939). See the article Updating to Switchvox 7.0 for instructions on migrating to version 7.0.  Please note that after you update the PBX, you need to clear your web browser cache after you update, to ensure the new features display correctly.

There are new features that do not have corresponding sounds in the 7.0 language sound packs. In versions 7.0 and later, if you are using a language sound pack and a new feature, you may need to record custom sounds for use with the new feature (e.g., Virtual Queues in version 7.3).

Enhancements

  • Queue calls that are answered using the call-control Answer Now feature (in the Switchboard) are kept as queue calls for the purposes of logging and reporting, and are no longer considered a call that was transferred out of the queue.

  • A new setting, Enable ICE Support, is available in Setup > IP Configuration (under Advanced Options). This is set to YES, to enable a remote D-Series phone or a mobile softphone to communicate with Switchvox in the most efficient way possible for a more reliable audio connection. As of 7.5.1, this setting applies to the latest versions of the Switchvox Softphone for Mobile (5.1.4 at the time of this writing), and to the D80 IP Phone firmware included in version 7.5.1. 

    If an extension's Digium Phone Settings indicate UDP for SIP Transport, then ICE is not used. To use ICE, find the extension in the extension list (Setup > Manage), and click on its Modify action. In the Phone Settings tab, under Digium Phones, Advanced Phone Options, set SIP Transport to TCP. (Or to TLS/SRTP if they're using a D-Series phone and you choose to encrypt this person's calls.)
     

Issues Resolved

  • In the Desktop Softphone for Windows and macOS:

    • The screen sharing tool now prompts you to decide which of your screens to share.

    • The Contacts tab is now a search feature - the tab does not automatically attempt to list all of your contacts. Also searching in Contacts is improved where an extension contains special characters in the name.

    • The video icon is no longer included in a call card where the call is with a feature extension (as opposed to a SIP Phone extension). Previously, clicking the video icon on such a call would cause an error.

    • The video icon is now available on Contacts and Favorites, even if the app does not have access to a camera. Even if you don't have a camera, you can still share your screen with a coworker, and see their video and screen.

    • When the multimedia screen is maximized, the visual is no longer cut off.

    • Call timers are now correctly displayed when previously multiple calls caused the timers to be incorrect.

    • Chat notifications are now sent correctly where the message is sent from a Peered Switchvox. 

  • Queue calls ringing on an extension with call rules that attempt to ring invalid numbers no longer result in failed calls. Queue members continue ringing as normal.

  • Switchboard Conference Widget now sorts participants correctly based on the widget settings.

  • A blind transfer to an extension with call rules that produce a "Ring All" action now include the correct forwarding information in the Switchvox web suite's Recording > Call Log.

  • Backups now include the option to Clear All FTP Settings for the event the SSL Certificate has changed on the SFTP server and backup files are no longer being off-loaded. Clear and re-enter the settings for the SFTP server.

  • Multi-file backups are now correctly removed after the backup is restored.

  • All Scheduled Reports (calls and queues) now have the option to send as XLS. 

  • In the Manage Phones tool, a phone extension that has a Desktop Softphone can now be successfully reassigned to the second Line on a D-Series desk phone.

  • In the Manage Phones tool, when the Main extension has a Desktop Softphone, additional phone extensions with no phone attached are no longer showing phone type as Desktop Softphone.

  • In the phone user's Additional Phones tool (displayed when the user has more than one phone extension), the label for the phone extension can now be correctly modified.

  • The Bulk Import tool now correctly updates Location for existing extensions.

  • Reloading the Server Reboot browser tab no longer causes the reboot command to be resubmitted.

  • The Switchvox Softphone for Mobile app can now be used to record voicemail greetings as expected in that process.

  • Fixed an issue related to the Switchvox Softphone for Mobile app and the Alternate Configuration Port setting.

  • Digium IP Phones firmware updates: 2.9.7 for D6X, and 1.12.6 for D80.
