Updating to Switchvox 7.9.2.1

This article describes Switchvox version 7.9.2.1 (103053).

This version requires version 7.0 (94939). See the article Updating to Switchvox 7.0  for instructions on migrating to version 7.0.  Please note that users may need to clear their web browser cache after the update, so any changes from your prior version are displayed correctly.  Please read this document thoroughly as there are Features and Enhancements related to FCC Mandates, and also a Known Issue that may affect some Switchvox Systems.
 

New Features and Enhancements

New Default Outgoing Call Rule for 988

For details, see The Suicide Prevention Lifeline and 988 and the FCC Suicide Prevention Lifeline Mandate.

For Switchvox Cloud administrators, this outgoing call rule will be automatically configured for you by the Switchvox Cloud team.

For Switchvox Premises, 988 is now a default outgoing call rule for new installations of Switchvox. To set up your existing Switchvox so that phone-user can dial 988 and reach the lifeline, see How Do I Set Up Switchvox to Dial the 988 Suicide Prevention Lifeline?

Other changes

  • TCP and TLS options for SIP Providers
    SIP providers now offer a Transport setting, which can be set to UDP, TCP, or TLS. TLS requires an SSL certificate from a trusted source (you cannot use the Switchvox managed certificate).

  • IMAP is removed as a service in the Access Control Rule.

​​​​​Known Issue

  • Switchvox 7.9.1 and 7.9.2.1 are affected by a known issue related to multiple Status Indicator buttons programmed on Sangoma desk phones. We recommend Switchvox deployments with multiple Status Indicators on their desk phones await resolution in our next release, which will be available very soon.  

​​​​​Issues Resolved

  • Checking voicemail from the Switchvox Chat app for iOS/Android no longer creates unneeded files on disk.

  • User-initiated call recordings are now successfully offloaded to an external FTP server when configured to do so. This was failing as of version 7.9 which included many voicemail changes.
