The ISDN Nortel Meridian object is created under the D-Channel object when the Nortel Merdian Base Variant (User or Network) is selected in the Base Variant field. If the Base Variant field is configured as something other than Nortel Meridian, the ISDN Nortel Meridian object cannot be created. The ISDN Nortel Base Variant is created to be able to modify some of the configurable options within the Nortel Meridian Base Variant. Modify each field as needed. For more information, refer to the data below.

Field Descriptions:
The first four fields (Channel ID) identify the type and number of B-Channel's requested. The purpose of the Channel identification information element is to identify a channel within the interface(s) controlled by the signaling process.
Channel Id - Interface Id (Facility Zero Call Control)
EXPLICIT (Default) - When selecting EXPLICIT, the Channel Identification Information Element identifier parameter will identify facility 0 explicitly. EXPLICIT indicates that the facility is carrying the B-Channel, even though this may be a single facility interface and octet 3.1 the interface identifier parameter is used.
IMPLICIT - When selecting IMPLICIT, the Channel Identification Information Element identifier parameter will identify facility 0 implicitly. IMPLICIT indicates the B Channel is on the same trunk as the signaling channel and octet 3.1 the interface identifier parameter is omitted.
Channel Id - Interface Id (Facility Zero Service/Service Ack)
Channel Id - Interface Id (DChannel Service/Service Ack)
EXPLICIT (Default) - The Channel ID parameter in the service state messages for facility 0 as well as in the call control parameters are explicitly identified which indicates that the facility carrying the B-Channel is not necessarily on the same trunk.
IMPLICIT - The Channel ID parameter in the service state messages for facility 0 as well as in the call control parameters are implicitly identified which indicates that the facility carrying the B-Channel is on the same trunk. Â
Channel Id - Channel Number (MSBit Call Processing)
Clear (Default) - The last bit of the Channel Identification parameter (Most Significant Bit, MSB) will be a 0 indicating the information continues into the next octet.
Set- The last bit of the Channel Identification parameter (Most Significant Bit, MSB) will be a 1 indicating the information does NOT continue into the next octet.
Channel Id - Channel Number (MSBit Service State)
Clear (Default) - The last bit of the Channel Identification parameter (Most Significant Bit, MSB) in the SERVICE and SERVICE ACK messages as well as in the call control parameters will be a 0 indicating the information continues into the next octet.
Set - The last bit of the Channel Identification parameter (Most Significant Bit, MSB) in the SERVICE and SERVICE ACK messages as well as in the call control parameters will be a 1 indicating the information does NOT continues into the next octet.
Reset B Channel Service State On Restart
Enabled (Default)- If the IMG receives a RESTART message the IMG will reset the B-Channel so the B-Channel goes back to its idle state.
Disabled- If the IMG receives a RESTART message the IMG will NOT reset the B-Channel.
Force Initiation Of DLC Establishment
Enabled (Default) - If the IMG takes the D-Channel Out Of Service, the IMG will send a layer 2 DISCONNECT message to the far end.
Disabled - If the IMG takes the D-Channel Out Of Service, the IMG will NOT send a layer 2 DISCONNECT message to the far end.
