Switchvox - How do I converge a cell phone when our provider requires an access code for long distance calling?

If your provider requires an access or pin code for long distance calling, and you are not able to authorize converging a cell phone that has a long distance number, do the following:

  1. Go to Setup > Outgoing Calls and create a call rule.

  2. The call rule will be:  Number begins with the digits (put in the entire cell phone number how you would dial it from your desk phone).  The rest of the number must be between (zero) and (zero) digits in length.  Before connecting the call, trim (this will be the number of digits of the cell phone number above so it trims the whole thing) digits from the front, and then prepend the digits (this will be the cell phone number, then wwww, then the access code) to the number.

  3. For example, if the cell is 5557778888, and you simply dial 10 digits from your desk phone, and the access code is 1234, the call rule will be:  Number begins with the digits 5557778888.  The rest of the number must be between 0 and 0 digits in length.  Before connecting the call, trim 10 digits from the front, and then prepend the digits 5557778888wwww1234 to the number.

  4. Put this rule at the top of the list

  5. Go to Setup > Manage and modify the extension you're trying to converge the cell phone

  6. Go to the outgoing calls rule and give it this rule.

  7. Then try to authorize the cell phone again.
