How do I change Music on Hold for VoIP Providers?
Many businesses prefer to play custom messages, to give important announcements or offer promotions based on the SIP providers. You can use an SIP provider to manipulate what callers attach to what the SIP provider hears or sends before the call is connected.
In this article, we will:
Create a new sound group and upload music
Associate your custom music with the SIP Provider Call Settings.
Apply Music On Hold (MOH) changes
A. Create and populate a new MOH group:
Select Tools > Music On Hold > Groups tab > Create Group button
Fill in new group information details, then press Save Group
Select the Songs tab > Upload Songs button and upload your songs, to your new group
Songs must be .mp3 or .ogg file format
B. Link VoIP Provider to your custom music:
Select Setup → VoIP Providers → [your SIP Provider] → Modify (pencil icon) > Call Settings tab
Select Play Music on Hold set to Yes
Select Music On Hold → Music On Hold Group: [your MOH group] > Save SIP Provider
If in case user does require only silence and not to play any music on hold for the provider then the Play Music on Hold Option Must be Set to No
Below is the setting of Music on Hold as preset within Call Settings of Setup → VoIP Providers
Callers waiting on hold, via the configured specific VoiP Provider e, will now hear your new custom music along with announcements or promotional offers.
