How do I get the Switchvox Desktop Softphone?

Switchvox Version 7.8.2 and Later

Switchvox 7.8.2 and more recent versions still off the older desktop softphone apps as described below. However, in later versions of Switchvox, the older version of the app will be removed and you will be required to download the separate app as described in Using the Switchvox Apps.
Switchvox Version 7.8.1 and Earlier
The Desktop Softphone for Windows and macOS is available in the Switchvox server version 7.1 or later.
The installer can be downloaded directly from your Switchvox server running 7.1 through 7.8.1. A Switchvox administrator will find the appropriate download links for Windows or macOS on Switchvox's /admin landing page.
The download links can be used by anyone with HTTP access to Switchvox. You don't need to be logged into the admin portal (/admin) or to the phone-user portal (/main) to get the installer. You just need to know the URL:

For the app to be used as a phone, a Switchvox administrator assigns the Desktop Softphone to the SIP extension (using the Manage Phones tool). A Desktop Softphone can be assigned to a Main extension (if it's someone's only phone), or to an Additional extension.
