VoIP Providers: Music On Hold Setting
Numerous businesses prefer to play customized messages tailored to each trunk for delivering significant announcements or promoting special offers.
With the release of Switchvox 8.2.1, new configurations have been implemented to enhance the ease and flexibility of Music on Hold on a per-trunk basis.
New Settings
Play Music On Hold
In the settings of the VoIP provider, there is a new option labeled "Play Music On Hold."
This feature enables users to play MoH from the designated Music on Hold Group when the Play Music On Hold configuration is enabled (set to YES).
By default, this configuration is set to YES.
If the Play Music On Hold configuration is switched to NO, Silence will be applied to all incoming and outgoing calls on this trunk.
Music On Hold Group
In the settings of the VoIP provider, there is a newly added field labeled "Music On Hold Group."
This field specifies the Music On Hold selection that users wish to play for callers connected through that specific VoIP Provider or Trunk.
How to Configure Specific Music on Hold for VoIP Provider
Navigate to Setup → VoIP Providers in Switchvox.
Locate the VoIP provider you want to configure.
Make sure the Play Music on Hold option is set to YES.
Now, Select the Music on Hold Group from the drop-down list as present on the Switchvox.
Calls from other VoIP providers will continue to use their own configured MoH.
