How to set up SIPTAPI service provider?

NOTE:  Digium does not support 3rd party TAPI software

 

How to setup SIPTAPI service provider with Switchvox:

  1. Download SIPTAPI from SourceForge - siptapi

  2. Place the siptapi.tap (your respective version 64 or 32 bit) into the c:\windows\system32

  3. Open the Control Panel and look for phone, when you have the Phone and Modem dialog box open, click the Advanced tab

  4. Click Add and select SIPTAPI, then Add

  5. Highlight SIPTAPI and select Configure

  6. For Domain, put the address or hostname of your Switchvox

  7. Enter your Extension and your Phone Password (NOT YOUR NUMERIC PASSWORD, but the password found in Switchvox's administration suite under Setup > Manage > Modify the extension > Phone Settings > Common Settings)

  8. You can enter your extension again, in the last, optional field

  9. When calling from Outlook, ensure you have selected SIPTAPI as the line you want to call out with

 

NOTE:  If you receive an authenticating error (you can also check in Switchvox under Server > Error Logs > Advanced Error Logs), try adding the IP of the PBX as the Outbound Proxy also in SIPTAPI
