Virtual extension vs. Voicemail-only extension (Legacy)
Virtual extension vs. Voicemail-only extension (Legacy)
A Voicemail-only extension is an extension that can be used as a General Office voicemail box, the voicemail box of a department, or for any other voicemail purpose. The extension does not have a Username or Password configurable meaning these extensions cannot use HUD, the Fonality User Panel, FONcall, or any other feature that requires a username and password for access.
Voicemail-only extensions are best used as general office voicemail boxes or department voicemail boxes.
A Virtual extension is an extension that does not have an associated user. The virtual extension is used only for forwarding or routing calls, and does need a username or password. (The virtual extension does not log into HUD or the control panel)
