My Linked Servers don't work

If you cannot make an extension-to-extension call via your linked servers, please try the following:

  1. Ensure that you have opened UDP port 4569 bidirectionally between both servers.  Linked servers communicate via the IAX2 protocol that uses UDP 4569 for signalling and audio.

  2. Click on Options --> link server

  3. Select your server from the lower option menu (unlink)

  4. Click Unlink Server

  5. The page reloads.  Select the server you wish to link from the upper option menu (link)

  6. Click Link Server

  7. Make a test call from an extension on one server to an extension on the other

Steps 2 - 7 will rewrite the link.conf context that controls how calls are routed between servers and re-attempt a connection (after you've verified that UDP 4569 is open).

If you continue to have trouble, please click on Status --> network in order to view the current state of your linked servers.
