Business Voice - Installation Wizard

Overview 

The following information explains the basic steps for running the Location Installation Wizard.

Note: The installation notes section of the wizard varies depending on whether the location type is a business Voice or Business Voice+ location, as seen in the example screenshots below. 

Installation Wizard Steps

  • Login to Business Voice portal.

  • Ensure that the Aurora version of the portal has been enabled.

  • Select the Configuration menu option.

  • Search and select the location to be installed from the list. 

  • Expand the left navigation panel.

  • Expand the Location Information option.

  • Select the Location install option.

  • The Install Intro page is displayed. Click the  CONTINUE TO INSTALL NOTES  button.

Note:  Prior to the Install Intro page being displayed, the system will validate that the location is configured and properly set up.  If any errors are detected the errors will be displayed and the install will not be allowed to proceed until the errors have been corrected. For more information see the error messages section at the bottom of this article.

  • The Install Notes page is displayed. See below examples based on the location type.

  • Enter all required information.

  • For more information hover over the “Learn more” link” at the top of the Install Notes page.

  • After all information has been entered click the  FINISH  button.

Error Messages

If an error message is displayed during the installation process, you will not be able to  proceed until that issue has been corrected. If you require assistance with this, it is recommended that  you contact the Order Management Department at 1(941) 234-0001 Option 1 then 3, for additional insight or assistance on how to correctly resolve the issue in order to complete the installation process. 

All errors will be displayed in the following format:

Contact the Order Management Department at 1(941) 234-0001 Option 1 then 3.

Typical Errors:

MAC Address Blank 

If the MAC address of the location being installed is blank, the following error message will be displayed: 

  • The StarBox does not have a valid MAC address.

MAC Address Conflict 

If an installation is attempted for a StarBox with a duplicate MAC address enter for the locations, the following will be displayed: 

  • The StarBox you are installing has a MAC address conflict.

StarBox Not Online  

If you installation wizard cannot detect the StarBox is online, the following  error message will appear: 

  • The StarBox is not online. Please confirm the StarBox is powered on.

StarBox Behind NAT 

If the StarBox IP address is behind NAT at the time of  installation the following  error message will appear:: 

  • The StarBox is online, but is behind NAT. The StarBox must have a public IP address in  order to be correctly installed. 

E911 Number 

  • In order to complete the installation an E911 number must be associated with the individual  location.
