How do I configure HUD for remote use?

Note: This article is for HUD2 (legacy users) only.  For HUD3 or above click here.

  1. Open your HUD client

  2. Click on File --> settings

  3. Click on Connection

  4. Click on the + sign next to Advanced Settings

  5. Add an 'x' after the Server ID in the box immediately to the right of 'Server'

  6. Click Apply

  7. Your HUD Client should automatically connect

Example: If your Server ID (SID) is '1000', and your 'Server' field shows

/content/body/p[4]/strong[1]/span, reference to undefined name 'fon': line 1, column 1 (click for details)

MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptUndefinedNameException: reference to undefined name 'fon': line 1, column 1 at MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptVar.Evaluate (MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptEnv env) [0x00000] at MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptAccess.Evaluate (MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptEnv env, Boolean evaluateProperties) [0x00000] at MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptAccess.Evaluate (MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptEnv env) [0x00000] at MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptCall.Evaluate (MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptEnv env) [0x00000] at MindTouch.Deki.Script.Dom.DekiScriptDomExpr.Evaluate (MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptEvalContext context, System.Xml.XmlNode parent, MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptEnv env) [0x00000]

then you should change the 'Server' field to

/content/body/p[4]/strong[2]/span, reference to undefined name 'fon': line 1, column 1 (click for details)

MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptUndefinedNameException: reference to undefined name 'fon': line 1, column 1 at MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptVar.Evaluate (MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptEnv env) [0x00000] at MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptAccess.Evaluate (MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptEnv env, Boolean evaluateProperties) [0x00000] at MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptAccess.Evaluate (MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptEnv env) [0x00000] at MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptCall.Evaluate (MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptEnv env) [0x00000] at MindTouch.Deki.Script.Dom.DekiScriptDomExpr.Evaluate (MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptEvalContext context, System.Xml.XmlNode parent, MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptEnv env) [0x00000]

NOTE: You must have TCP port 6600 open on your router/firewall and forwarding to your

/content/body/p[5]/span[2], reference to undefined name 'fon': line 1, column 1 (click for details)

MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptUndefinedNameException: reference to undefined name 'fon': line 1, column 1 at MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptVar.Evaluate (MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptEnv env) [0x00000] at MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptAccess.Evaluate (MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptEnv env, Boolean evaluateProperties) [0x00000] at MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptAccess.Evaluate (MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptEnv env) [0x00000] at MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptCall.Evaluate (MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptEnv env) [0x00000] at MindTouch.Deki.Script.Dom.DekiScriptDomExpr.Evaluate (MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptEvalContext context, System.Xml.XmlNode parent, MindTouch.Deki.Script.DekiScriptEnv env) [0x00000]

in order to allow remote HUD clients to connect to your

/content/body/p[5]/span[3], reference to undefined name 'fon': line 1, column 1 (click for details)
