How do you download a language pack and activate it?

Localized Sound Packs

To use a Switchvox sound pack (sometimes referred to as one word, soundpack), download the appropriate file for your version of Switchvox.

IMPORTANT: if you have updated from version6.7.1.3 to version 7.0, you must delete the sound pack that was installed prior to version 7.0, then install the 7.0 64-bit sound pack. The older 32-bit sound pack does not work with version 7.0. Also, the sound packs for 7.3 and 7.6.2 include all system sounds, but older sound packs lack a small set of sounds including the sounds related to the virtual queues feature. If you are using a pre-7.3 language sound pack and a new feature, you will need to record custom sounds for use with the new feature.

After you download the file, add the sound pack to Switchvox:

  1. Browse to your Switchvox Admin Suite and Tools > Sound Manager.

  2. On the Sound Manager page, select Sound Pack from the Add New dropdown.

  3. Click Browse, and locate the sound pack file on your computer.

  4. When you have placed the appropriate sound pack file in the Uploadbox, click Add Sound Pack.

You can make any language the default for all Switchvox sounds. To make a language the default for Switchvox sounds:

  1. In the Sound Manager, select All Languages from the
    View dropdown.

  2. Click Set as Default for the appropriate language.

The Switchvox software is restarted: all calls are dropped and members are logged out of their queues. Once Switchvox is running again, Switchvox sounds are played in the selected Default language. Switchvox administrators and phone users can be set individually to use a different language for their own interactions with Switchvox, and Switchvox features such as IVRs and Call Queues can be set to use a different language for calls using those features.
