Incoming Calls failing from Flowroute
Starting this morning, many Switchvox clients using Flowroute as their SIP Provider stopped receiving incoming calls.Â
Â
Other symptoms that you will see for this issue:
Outgoing calls are still working fine.
The Connection Status still shows the provider as connected and Registered.
Flowroute reports this is failing at the customer's PBX, which is sending a "401 Unauthorized" response to the inbound call Invite.
Â
Why this is happening:
At some point around 10:30 this morning, Flowroute made a change in how they are sending call Invites from their host address IP ranges.
In Switchvox, on incoming call Invites from IP addresses that are not the provider host address, Switchvox will always request an authentication check (401 Unauthorized)
Flowroute will never Authenticate on inbound call Invites. They will respond to 401 only with "ACK" (Acknowledged), and then either hang up or try again with a new Invite from one of their other host IP addresses.
Â
How to Resolve:
In your Switchvox Admin portal, go to Setup > VoIP Providers.
Hit the Modify pencil to make the following changes to the VoIP Provider [Flowroute] Connection Settings:
Confirm "Always Trust this Provider" is ON
Manually add Flowroute's remaining 32 alt IP addresses to the Provider Host List (this does not accept the "/" character, so these cannot be a range):
