How Do I Allow 7 Digit Dialing In Switchvox?

How to setup an Outgoing Call Rule to allow users to dial a 7-digit number using the local area code:

Login as an administrator to the Switchvox:

  1. Go to Setup > Call Routing > Outgoing calls

  2.  Click on Create Outgoing Call Rule

  3. Rule Name: 7 Digit Numbers 

  4. Number begins with the digits: leave this blank

  5. The rest of the number must be between 7 and 7 digits in length

  6. Before connecting the call, trim 0 digits from the front, and then prepend the digits [ ] to the number (enter a 1 and the 3 digits of the area code here)

  7. Primary Call Through Provider: Select the provider

  8. Is this rule final? Yes

  9. Allow all existing extensions to use this rule? Yes (this will allow all extensions to dial 7-digit numbers for the local area code)

  10. Save Outgoing Call Rule

This will allow users to dial a 7-digit number for the local area code (you can only setup one rule for one local area code)
