Music on hold: Troubleshooting

Q. New playlist created, now hold music doesn't work

I created my own music on hold playlist, and deleted playlist 'one'.  Now I don't hear any music on hold.

Solution:

The PBX uses playlist 'one' by default.  To use another playlist, You must set a Playlist within a Submenu.  See How to: Music-on-Hold.

We recommend uploading your music to playlist 'one', and using additional playlists only if you need different music for different menus.

Q. Custom music won't play

Solution:

When I upload custom hold music, I can't get it to play.  But the default fpm-calm-river.mp3 [right-click, save target/link] plays fine, if I select it.Solution:The MP3 file you uploaded is not in the correct format.  Music-on-hold must be in this file format:  Constant bit rate, 128Kbps, stereo MP3, 20MB http://max.To check it (in Windows), right-click on the file and select "Properties...".  Select the Summary tab, and click the "Advanced >>" button.  Refer to the screenshot on the right. For tips on correcting this, please see:u.
